The flag engineering project of socialism in Poland, a huge metallurgical complex and Nowa Huta city praised in songs and poems and being a living proof of bright future yet to come, showed its true colors, which was much in contrast with the image shown in propaganda newsreels. Wroclawski's camrea singled out the existential poverty of young workers squeezed in wooden barracks. Daily grind did not match the official "lyricism" pouring down from the estate's megaphones above the heads of the guys in wellies going for a beer.
